I was invited to a memorable event at the Chopard Boutique in Kuwait City.
 
It was an evening of attractions, like a live falcon on a falconer’s wrist that mesmerized the gathering. I have to admit maybe me not quite as much, because I have flown quite a few birds including peregrines. That said, what did impress me was that the bird was mannered well enough to allow people to stroke it, even without its hood on. My birds would never have allowed that, but then on the other hand I was rehabilitating them to return to the wild.
 
There was also great food, although of course no spirits. What there was, in large quantity, was complimentary Cuban cigars that attracted my American compatriots like moths to a flame.
We ended up the evening in a packed smoking lounge in the boutique, being served both gourmet desserts and a selection of stunning Chopard timepieces.
 
In all honesty, Chopard had never before been in my wheelhouse, but that evening stamped an indelible impression on me and I now often take the opportunity to visit Chopard boutiques. While I have never returned to the one in Kuwait City, I have visited the store on Rodeo Drive on more than one occasion.
 
It was there that I first noticed the Chopard floating diamond watches, and thought it was an entertaining idea which gave a fairly simple sports watch a ladle of exotic appeal.
 
It is with that fondness that I offer this ladies Chopard Happy Sport with its seven floating diamonds twinkling around the watch face.
 
It is a great day watch with a wonderful caress of evening.
